Parallel Hungary

Parallel Hungary is a group project of the students of the Doctoral School of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, Stipendium Hungaricum-scholarship Programme, led by Dr. Habil. Tünde Varga PhD, and Margit Koller, artist, doctoral student. Zahra Fuladvand and 7  artists from all around the world have been working together for a year to create an exhibition about their personal view of Hungary. How is living here for 4 years, being an artist from a far country, carrying a different cultural heritage? How do they sense the Hungarian cultural, social and political symptoms? How do the locality and the identity connect, what does it mean: being home? During the one-year-long creation process of this exhibition, they’re dealing with these cultural and social differences from their special view, where they can see a parallel country (more parallel views), which may be invisible to the locals. Zahra Fuladvand participated in this group exhibition through her Video Performance entitled “Mirror”(2020) and “Rootedness”(2021)
